Homemade gluten free gifts

Gluten-free brownies in a jar

These gluten-free brownies in a jar are the perfect homemade gift for the Holiday season. You can upcycle your empty jars and add a cute tag with the instructions on how to bake it, and you are ready to go! Ideal for Christmas, birthdays, baby showers etc…

The ingredients are pretty simple and cheap. Flour is used in a very small quantity so you can use the kind of flour that you prefer. I normally use chestnut flour or rice flour. But also teff, millet, fine corn, buckwheat flour will work. Most importantly, take the time to layer the ingredients thinking about their colors, as a result you will also get a pleasant look.

No gums or thickeners are among the ingredients, since brownies don’t need a big rising. Only whole grain, naturally gluten-free ingredients. And the best part is, no one will even know these are without gluten!

This is the easiest edible gift you can think of, and you can be sure that it will be very much appreciated from who will receive it. However, you can use the recipe to bake brownies for you as well!

  1. The brownies have a great taste, but they are very dry and crubmly. What can be added to make them moist?

    • Hi Martha! This can happen depending on the quality of cocoa powder and how much it absorbs the liquids. You can try to reduce the cocoa powder to ¼ cup only.
